Meadowgate® Alpacas

Stephen and Nicole Phillips, Owners

Meadowgate® Alpacas is a family-run farm nestled on 10 peaceful acres of pastureland in Beaverdam, Virginia, surrounded by forest and the Newfound River. Established in 2017, the farm is home to a carefully managed herd of fewer than 35 alpacas.
Stephen and Nicole Phillips’ journey began with horses, but after taking a break from farm life, they soon realized how much they missed seeing “faces in the fields.” Their search for animals that were gentler on the land led them to alpacas—and after their first “paca hug,” they were hooked.
Today, Meadowgate® intentionally keeps its herd small, allowing the family to focus on the health, personality, and well-being of each alpaca while producing quality fiber and supporting breeding, agritourism, events, and alpaca therapy programs.
More than a farm, Meadowgate® is a place for connection—to the land, to the animals, and to one another. The Phillips family looks forward to welcoming visitors and sharing the joy of these remarkable animals, one “paca hug” at a time.
