Meet the Farms
Agriberry Farm
Pierson Geyer, OwnerFounded in 2008, by Anne and Chuck Geyer, Agriberry Farm is now owned and operated by their son, Pierson, continuing the family’s commitment to growing and sharing exceptional fruit with the community.
At their Hanover farm, the Geyer family grows raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and muscadine grapes. Agriberry also partners with other Mid-Atlantic fruit growers to bring a wider variety of high-quality, seasonal fruit to customers throughout Central Virginia.
With a strong presence at area farmers markets and a popular Weekly Fruit Box CSA, Agriberry connects customers directly with the people and farms behind their food. The farm is also proud to provide hands-on opportunities for aspiring farmers and first-time workers through its seasonal Harvest Team.

Lewis Ginter Nature Reserve
Jason Long, GroundkeeperWhat began as a peaceful rural home for the Cosby family grew into an extraordinary horticultural treasure. Over more than 40 years, siblings Elizabeth, Madeline, and Reverend Monsignor Roy Cosby carefully cultivated the 79-acre property, creating a remarkable collection of more than 2,000 varieties of azaleas, 300 varieties of rhododendrons, ornamental plants, farmland, and Virginia woodlands.
Today, the property is known as the Lewis Ginter Nature Reserve. Protected through a conservation easement, the land reflects a lasting commitment to stewardship, preservation, and the belief that a place lovingly cared for today can continue to inspire and benefit generations to come.
For one day only, this hidden gem is open to the public to explore the grounds.
Meadowgate® Alpacas
Stephen and Nicole Phillips, OwnersMeadowgate® Alpacas is a family-run farm nestled on 10 peaceful acres of pastureland in Beaverdam, Virginia, surrounded by forest and the Newfound River. Established in 2017, the farm is home to a carefully managed herd of fewer than 35 alpacas.
Stephen and Nicole Phillips’ journey began with horses, but after taking a break from farm life, they soon realized how much they missed seeing “faces in the fields.” Their search for animals that were gentler on the land led them to alpacas—and after their first “paca hug,” they were hooked.
Today, Meadowgate® intentionally keeps its herd small, allowing the family to focus on the health, personality, and well-being of each alpaca while producing quality fiber and supporting breeding, agritourism, events, and alpaca therapy programs.
More than a farm, Meadowgate® is a place for connection—to the land, to the animals, and to one another. The Phillips family looks forward to welcoming visitors and sharing the joy of these remarkable animals, one “paca hug” at a time.
